Most people should keep Copy Path and Copy Relative Path at the top level, and put everything else inside Copy As.

  2. In Menus, choose which copy actions appear for:
  3. Add Custom Formats when you need reusable templates with placeholders like \{path\}, \{name\}, \{fileURL\}, \{posixPath\}.

FAQ

Why don’t I see CopyNest in Finder?

  1. Enable the Finder extension: macOS System Settings → Extensions → Finder Extensions → CopyNest.
  2. Reopen your Finder windows (or relaunch Finder).

What can Copy As copy?

Names, parent folders, file URLs, POSIX-escaped paths, Markdown links, Markdown lists, JSON arrays, and your custom formats.

How do Custom Formats work?

Create a format with placeholders, then use it from Copy As. The settings page shows a preview so you can see the copied result before using it.

Privacy

CopyNest works locally on your Mac. It writes copied text to the system clipboard and stores menu preferences and custom formats locally. CopyNest does not require an account and does not upload your files.
